P06 bathymetry:
ASCII navigation and bathymetry data files were obtained from 
John Toole via Jim Crease on 10/20/98.

Three legs:
P06E: 316N138_3 Leg 3  Harry Bryden    May 2 to May 26, 1992     Valpariso to Easter Island            
P06C: 316N138_4 Leg 4  Mike McCartney  May 30 to July 7, 1992    Easter Island to Auckland, New Zealand
P06W: 316N138_5 Leg 5  John Toole      July 13 to July 30, 1992  Auckland to Sydney, NSW, Australia

"p06_legnbathy_orig.fnl" are the original data files, 
   containing yearday, lat, lon and uncorrected depth, from Toole
    (in subdirectory bathy_original)

"p06_legndep_orig.cor" are original data files with corrected depths 
        without the yearday
   Note that some despiking was done on these by hand  - see below (Talley).

"p06_legn_bathy_gdc.dat" are in Geological Data Center
    format and include corrected depths at all recorded locations.
    (in subdirectory bathy_gdc)

"p06_bathydist.dat" is the decimated bathymetry file, combining
    all three sections and projected
    onto straight lines between station positions, used for plotting
    the vertical sections.

"p06_sta_bpres.dat" is the station list, with corrected bottom
    pressures for each station, based on the WHP sum files
    (station summary file)

"p06_sta_bdat.dat" is the station list, with corrected bottom
    pressures for each station, based on the WHP sum files
    (station summary file)
